الهدف

  يهدف هذا المقرر إلى تعريف الطالب بمفاهيم تقنية المعلومات والتدرب على استعمال تطبيقات الحاسوب الاساسية والانترنت.
This course is intended to give the student a basic familiarity (literacy) with computers and their uses.  At the end of the course, the student is expected to have gained working knowledge with basic computer components and peripheral devices, the operation systems environments, file management, applications and documents.  The student should also gain working knowledge with Office applications components: Words processing, Datasheets, Databases and presentations.

   Introduction to Information Technology; Information Age and Information Society; Information Systems; Concept of Algorithm; Basics of Algorithm; Computer Organization; Operating Systems: Definition, Functions and types of operating systems; Computer Software; Application Software: Word-processing software, Reports and spreadsheet software, Software for drawing, Presentation software; Database Concepts: Definition and types of databases; Data Communications and Computer Networks; Using E-mail, FTP, Internet and WWW; Use of Internet; Seeking Information; Accessing Information Database Systems. 

المحتوى العملي

  The student is expected, through the lab hours, to do several projects creating, formatting and integrating documents, spreadsheets, charts, and presentations. Image processing applications.
